Today was the department breakfast. I love bagels. Oh, my, how I love bagels. I especially love real bagels that are properly boiled before they are baked. I'm sure a New Yorker would scoff at our Houston bagels from Einstein Brothers, but whatever.
Our theme was Cat Adoption Month. No, we didn't have cats up for adoption, but since there are lots of adopted cats (and dogs) owned by members of staff, we celebrated with a reduced-allergy toy cat centerpiece and a montage of funny Internet videos of cats.
I spent yesterday's lunch hour basting and then went home and sewed the neck facing down. Don't look at it took closely. I get a little better at piping each time but I am by no means an expert yet.
