Yet another version of 9880. I'm just gonna make a thousand of these and live in it forever.
The fabric is Free Spirit Anna Maria Horner Hand Picked in yellow. The facings are an old bright-pink Concord I got from Galen the Foster Kitty's great-grandma.
Pattern description: Loose-fitting dress A and B have round neckline with back button and loop and full skirt gathered to bodice at raised waist seam.
Pattern sizing: This is a base size 12/bust 34.
Did it look like the
illustration on the envelope? Yes.
Were the instructions
easy to follow? Yes. It's a very easy pattern.
What did you like about
the pattern? Easy to make, lends itself well to variation, comfortable to wear. I keep admiring Sew Liberated's Hinterland dress and then realizing that this is pretty much the same thing.
What did you dislike? The three-quarter sleeves with elastic wrists, which I never like, but I don't have to use them, right?
Fabric and notions used: Quilting cotton - Free Spirit Anna Maria Horner Hand Picked in mustard yellow floral; deadstock Concord calico for facings.
What pattern alterations
or design changes were made? Full-bust adjustment with added side darts; broad upper back alteration with added back-neck and waist darts; entirely new short sleeve fitted into the armscye; slightly lowered neckline.
Would you make it again? I have made and will continue to make this over and over again.
