A true testament to the powers of exercise: I spent 10 days in Italy living off of bread and cheese, and still managed to lose two pounds, right on schedule. I wasn't going to extra effort to indulge, but I wasn't really trying to stick to a calorie plan, either, because it was pretty much impossible. However, my father is very high-energy and doing all that sight-seeing, most of it on foot, was apparently more than a match for all that mozzarella bufala and seafood.
