Finished! There is also a tie belt but it looked silly with the dress on the hanger. The pockets aren't really that close together--the front of the dress folded inward because of the weight of the zipper.
My philosophy is that clothing that doesn't get worn on the street--underwear, pajamas, housecoats, lounge dresses--is exempt from the rules of aesthetics. So, sour green and dark brown is totally legal. I actually really like the yoke and sleeves with the stripes--I should use that again on a less Shrek-ish piece of clothing.
