New Pattern: 2011 September 28

Listening: Steve Earle, Exit 0 (1987) I just got this and Justin Townes Earle's Yuma at Cactus Music. The girl at the counter said she was a JTE fan and thought he was a great songwriter . . . until she heard his dad. Yeah, no comparison. JTE is good but Steve is genius.

Checking in with a collection of oddball stuff.

My dad is home from overseas for two weeks, and my brother and sister-in-law were here last week, and Guy Friend and I have been making the rounds of museums and tourist sights, so I've been adding to the Flickr albums like a madwoman. Here's a quick run-down, with links.

I need more fabric like a hole in the head, but I got this--the end of the bolt--cheaply. I don't normally do big mod prints but this told me it wanted to be made into a 1970's sundress. With red piping.

Right now, I'm thinking Simplicity 7580 (1976).

One new pattern. Like I need another smocky thingy, right?

Butterick 2749 (1963?): One size. Yeah, right. I will definitely be doing some measuring, and I'll probably close up that bateau neckline a little since they never work on skinny shoulders. I might make the belt button in the back, or at the side, instead of tie.

I think I could wear this over a henley in the winter, too, for at-home.
