1) No hood. Neckline cut down.
2) Sleeves cut wider and with contrast (bias, in this case) cuff linings. Cuffs button onto the sleeves for support.
3) Button front instead of neck split.
4) (No shown) Patch pockets.
And . . . action!
It actually looks better in real life, and it looks much better than I thought it would.
