This is the other project I have lined up for Simplicity 2718. Nothing fancy at all, but it's not meant to be.
I'm doing the dress alteration again (collar, shorter skirt) only with short sleeves, side-seam pockets, and, because I'm nuts, a welt pocket on the left breast:
The fabric is the Keepsake Calico brown ditsy floral I got on sale at Joann's. I'm totally not wild about the color, which is an ashy grayish-brown. I tried over dyeing it in orange but I think I'm going to overdye it again in brown once the dress is done (I already started cutting).
(This looks better here than in real life.)
