String Quilt

This was one of the projects that derailed the Sunshine Family dresses.

I like to finish a quilt a year.  Just finish, though--it doesn't have to be made from beginning to end, so quilting a top I made earlier counts.  I pieced this giant string quilt during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and pin-basted it . . . I think earlier this year or in late 2019.  Then I couldn't decide how to quilt it.

I finally decided on concentric squares, just to make it easier and ensure I actually got it done.

It has a pieced back:

 And a scrap binding:

I think I may actually keep this one.  I counted and I've made 16 quilts (mostly smaller ones; lap quilts) but only kept three: This one, my old T-shirt quilt, and the small bricks quilt that took me a lifetime to finish.
